Directions to Pinello Ranch
Take South Academy Exit from I-25, exit #135. At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn left heading north on Academy Blvd. Approximately 1/4 mile on right exit onto Hwy 85. Turn right onto Hwy 85 and take first right into Pinello Ranch. Drive straight, passing through the main gate, down a hill and you will be shown where to park.

It has been an incredibly mild and warm fall, but ducks and other migrating birds are still moving into the area, including flocks of dabbling ducks like the big, blocky-headed Gadwall, males with their black tail feathers and American Wigeons, these males having the characteristic white stripe down their forehead giving them their old name of "Baldpate". American Coot, White-crowned Sparrow, Dark-eyed Junco, and other waterfowl are moving in as well. Last week I saw my "first of season" Rough-legged Hawk in Park County. These raptors migrate south into Colorado from above the Arctic Circle.

Other raptors that are possible to see include Red-tailed Hawk, American Kestrel, Northern Harrier, Cooper's Hawk, Sharp-shinned Hawk and even Bald Eagle.

Still spaces available for both Nov 12 and Dec 3, both outings 8:30am-11:00am at Pinello Ranch.
