By late March, birds are on the move! Begin at Barr Lake State Park, where great horned owls and bald eagles have begun nesting and waterfowl abounds. Woodpeckers, chickadees, and nuthatches work the woodlands, and riparian brush hosts sparrows and finches. Move on to DIA, where the “airport loop” should have numerous raptors, with burrowing owls arriving as rough-legged hawks depart.
